Ditka Tells Kaepernick To “Get The Hell Out’ Of Our Country.. Do You Agree?
Colin Kaepernick garnered lots of media attention when he first refused to stand for the National Anthem. Kaepernick was at first roasted by the media and individuals for his lack of patriotism, but some began to come around when he explained his reasoning and started taking a knee instead. There is at least one NFL great, however, who isn’t coming around: legendary coach Mike Ditka. During a recent radio interview, Coach Ditka let Kaepernick know exactly what he thinks.
While appearing on 103.5 The Fan, Ditka was asked what he thought about Kaepernick’s silent protest, a gesture that has even made its way to high school football teams because of the attention it has been getting in the media. Known for speaking his mind, Coach Ditka unleashed a tirade in which he suggested that Kaepernick take his act on the road.

“I think it’s a problem…anybody who disrespects this country and the flag,” Ditka said. If they don’t like the country they don’t like our flag…get the hell out.” The remarks were not that surprising coming from a man who had a reputation in his coaching days for not tolerating what he perceived to be foolishness. Some fans that have sided with Kaepernick were quick to come to the quarterback’s defense on Twitter. “He is home you racist. Here is HOME. The USA is his home JUST AS MUCH as it is YOURS Mike Ditka! Nobody gave you the right to decide you AH!,” wrote Twitter user @bellatrova.
