On September 13, 2012, Antonio Duane Brown was sentenced to at least one-and-a-half to five years in jail in Kent County, Michigan. Chestnut was indicted escaping and evading a cop.
Hours after his sentencing, a female protect was opening the jail’s framework to let Brown’s kindred detainee, Willie Williams, out of his cell to recover a move of toilet paper. He was supposed to grab the roll and promptly return to his cell where the door would lock behind him. But instead of going back to his cell, Williams snuck behind a pillar and attacked the guard on-duty.

Williams knocked the radio from the guard’s hand and proceeded to beat and choke her into unconsciousness. But as fate would have it, he pressed a number of buttons during the attack which opened up other surrounding cells.
That’s when six or seven inmates ran out of their cells… to help the officer.
Brown, who was 31 at the time, was one of the first inmates to respond to the attack. He physically pulled Williams off the correctional officer, likely saving her life.
In the wake of the shocking incident, Kent County Circuit Judge Mark Trusock called Brown back into the courtroom for an unprecedented reason.
Trusock addressed Brown, saying, “You intervened at your own peril and pulled that individual off of her, probably saved her life and protected her from him attacking her again.”
