Some stories are just so sad that we have to wonder why humans would do such things to each other.
Inside Edition just reported on a South Carolina mother who killed her eighteen month old daughter. The reason is so sad, you will not believe it.

Most parents have an instinctual drive to protect their children, especially during infancy. It is a subconscious compulsion to ensure that your offspring survive and thrive.
But occasionally we hear about a parent who, to be charitable, has their wires crossed.
Recently, Kimberly Nicole Martines was charged with homicide, after feeding her baby a toxic amount of salt. The eighteen month old daughter, Peyton, died after ingesting a lethal dose of sodium chloride.
After being rushed to an emergency room, the baby was placed on life support and diagnosed with acute salt poisoning. She had been seizing and finally became unresponsive, at which point she was removed from the life support system.
Martines has admitted to authorities that she had fed the baby more than a tablespoon of salt, in an effort to “get her husband,” from whom she is separated, “back into her life.”
After the poisoning Martines’ other two children, including Peyton’s twin, were taken into protective custody by authorities.
The Spartanburg South Carolina woman’s sister has said publicly “”there’s a lot more that went on than people understand. She is “a great mother” who would never hurt her children.”
Other family members have released a statement saying “Peyton was the most beautiful, happiest, loving baby ever. She never cried and was a silly baby making everyone laugh. Her presence will always be with us.”
This story has caused a flurry of outrage on the internet and social media with people saying things like:
