School Tells Girl To Stop Being Weird If She Doeesn’t Want To Get Bullied, She Takes Drastic Measures

Just when you think we may be starting to get a handle on the bullying situation, something like this occurs and it feels like we are back to square one.

In this case, yet another bullying victim attempted suicide because things got so bad. 13-year-old Tayla stopped eating and fell into a deep depression.

Here’s Tayla speaking on how bad it got:

“I wanted to die. I wanted to leave this world and never come back.” She said that kids beat her up, harassed her sexually, and even told her to jump off a cliff.

Tayla speaks on the harsh comments she was continually receiving:

“It made me feel really terrible and like nobody really loved me anymore.”

So naturally the school steps in and works to remedy this horrible situation as quickly as possible, right?

Wrong.

Tayla’s principal said it was all her fault. Here’s what the principal had to say according to Tayla’s mom, Kali:

“If Tayla’s going to do unusual things, she’s gonna get picked on.”

So their solution was to isolate her in a “safe room”. Basically making her feel even worse by alienating her further.

Tayla describes the “prison” type of experience she had to now be part of:

“I didn’t like being isolated. I just wanted to play and have people leave me alone.”

Tayla ended up going to Change.org with a petition titled “School bullying is killing me.”

Here’s what she wrote:

“I only beg for you to please sign my petition to ask Dysart State High School to take a stronger stance against bullying and for the government to stop the school getting away with this.”

And the petition has since gone viral, while capturing the attention of international media.

Unfortunately, things ended up getting worse, as the petition only seemed to intensify the bullying, and then Tayla tried to kill herself.

Child services was forced to intervene and they discovered that indeed the bullying was severe, and Tayla needed to be protected.

So she left the school and even left the town to go live with her grandfather.

Kali and Tayla continue to press for stronger measures to be taken against bullying, and never should the blame be thrown at the victim.

Here’s what Kali had to say:

“I would like to see better policies from the education minister about bullying. They may be just kids but the tactics they’re using are seriously damaging.”

Indeed bullying is a worldwide problem according to a National Center for Biotechnology Information global survey which states the following:

“Countries throughout the world have identified bullying as a leading adolescent health concern.”
