It was 2008 when Mary Ellias lost her 10-year-old son Hayden. Mary and her husband were sitting at a soccer match, cheering on their son as he did what he most loved to do. He was playing the goalie position, and everyone could tell that he was a natural at it. No one would have thought that serious danger could be involved with a kid’s soccer game, but danger lurked nonetheless.
A goal came Hayden’s way, and he blocked it expertly. The crowd cheered, but in the next second, the soccer goal tipped over and crushed Hayden. It broke his neck. This is not the first time an incident like this has occurred. Soccer goals are heavier in the front than in the back, and they all come with anchors to counteract this.
