THERE IS ONE PERSONALITY TRAIT THAT NAIL BITING IS A SIGN OF - THIS IS IT

A new study has linked nail biting to perfectionism. According to recent research, nail-biters don’t gnaw away at their fingertips because of anxiety, but because they’re frustrated about things not being just right.

The study, published in the ‘Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry,’ tried to evaluate ‘body-focused repetitive behaviors’ in relation to personality traits.

“We believe that individuals with these repetitive behaviors may be perfectionistic, meaning that they are unable to relax and to perform tasks at a normal pace,” said study author Dr. Kieron O’Connor. “They are therefore prone to frustration, impatience, and dissatisfaction when they do not reach their goals.”

Some signs of perfectionism include thinking in ‘all’ or ‘nothing’ terms, being very hard on yourself (especially in the face of failure), and never being satisfied with results.

Perfectionists might want to re-consider the nail-biting habit and find some other way to take out their frustration. Nail biting can result in weak teeth, infection, and nail bed deformities, according to WebMD.

COPS SPOT SOMETHING STRANGE IN THE BED OF THIS ELDERLY WOMAN'S TRUCK - IMMEDIATELY SPRING INTO ACTION

An Alaskan woman stunned local authorities when she decided to bring her husband on one last road trip. Unfortunately, the man was already dead.

Police officers in Ketchikan, Alaska got a call from someone reporting a dead body in a pick-up truck. They managed to find the truck and pull over the driver.

The unnamed woman had her husband’s body in an aluminum transport casket in the back of the truck. She had even stopped at canneries for ice to fill up the truck bed. She told police that she was conducting a ‘rolling wake’ to bring her husband’s body around so that people could pay respects.

Chief Alan Bengaard said in a press conference that the police will not be charging the woman. They have confirmed that the man died of natural causes and foul play is not suspected; this was just the grieving widow’s way of dealing with her husband’s death.

The police did require the woman to hand over the remains of her husband to a mortuary. They’re hoping that it can be worked out so that the woman will be able to transport the body back home.

MICHELLE OBAMA'S DESIGNER REFUSES TO OUTFIT MELANIA TRUMP - HERE'S WHY

President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team currently have their hands full with getting all of the posts filled within the upcoming administration, but they’ve had a new crisis dropped in their laps that throw a wrench into everything. As the New York Times reports, the self-important fashion industry has started a conversation about a topic that absolutely nobody is wondering about.

Many people are still coming to terms with Trump’s surprise victory over Hillary Clinton, and we can count the Council of Fashion Designers of America among that group. Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg, a Clinton supporter, has penned a letter to the council’s members with some recommendations on how they should proceed.

“How can we help on the eve of this new era?” she wrote, before suggesting that the answer may call for members to “embrace diversity, be open-minded, be generous and have compassion.”

Not everyone is taking her up on the advice, including French designer Sophie Theallet, who made headlines for her announcement that she would not be dressing future First Lady Melania Trump. Theallet wrote a lengthy letter outlining her position but failed to mention that she wasn’t asked to dress her in the first place.

It also seems to be escaping her attention that there are thousands of designers that will be more than happy to take on the work. The legendary Tommy Hilfiger summed up that position quite nicely when the question was posed to him directly.

“I think Melania is a very beautiful woman, and I think any designer should be proud to dress her,” he said.

TRUMP’S PROPOSES TO BAN FLAG-BURNING

Donald Trump wants to impose stiff penalties for flag burners, despite the Supreme Court having legalized the activity as a form of personal expression, the Daily Mail reported.

“Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag,” the president-elect tweeted on Tuesday. “If they do, there must be consequences, perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!”

Trump needs a constitutional amendment to override the Supreme Court’s 1989 ruling that flag desecration is a type of free speech. Two-third of all the senators and representatives would have to vote for the amendment. Though the House has approved such a measure on multiple occasions, the Senate continues to reject it. In 2006, senators came within a single vote of passing the “Flag Desecration Amendment.”

The New York Times pointed out that since 9/11, several lawmakers have vowed to introduce legislation revoking flag burners’ citizenship. The efforts failed to gain traction because of the overwhelming odds against their success.

Even Hillary Clinton has called for outlawing flag desecration. As a U.S. senator, she co-sponsored a bill that would have penalized citizens who burn flags to “’incite or produce imminent violence or a breach of the peace.” The measure stated: “Destruction of the flag of the United States can be intended to incite a violent response rather than make a political statement, and such conduct is outside the protections afforded by the First Amendment.” Violators would have been subject to one-year jail sentences and fines up to $100,000. The legislation failed to pass.

ADULTS LEFT AND RIGHT ARE BEING STUMPED BY THIS SIMPLE RIDDLE - HOW MANY HOLES DO YOU SEE?

Sometimes all the answers we need are right in front of us. We just have to look for them. Not enough people stop to think about what they’re looking at, which is why it’s so easy to stump the masses with a simple riddle.

One riddle features a t-shirt. The question is easy: how many holes are in it?

Apparently, the answer is hard, though, because most people said ‘two.’ Only 17% of people nailed the right answer. Though the front of the shirt does indeed show two gaping holes, it would be wrong.

The answer is eight. If you look closely, you’ll notice you can see right through the shirt holes to the other side. This means that not only are there two holes on the front of the shirt, but there must also be two holes on the back of the shirt.

So far that’s four holes, but where are the rest? They’re built into the shirt itself: a neck hole, two arm holes, and, of course, the bottom opening through which you would slip the shirt on.

Next time your friends ask you a riddle, stop and think about what they’re really asking. The most obvious answer is probably wrong, or it wouldn’t be a riddle. If you really think about it, it’s not too hard to show them how smart you can be.

PRIEBUS: CLINTON IS A HYPOCRITE FOR BACKING WISCONSIN RECOUNT

Reince Priebus is ridiculing the Hillary Clinton campaign for supporting an election recount in Wisconsin, according to The Hill.

Clinton’s staff explained in a written statement that the Democratic presidential nominee is joining Green Party candidate Jill Stein in petitioning for the recount because she considers it her “obligation” to ensure that an “accurate vote count will be reported.”

Stein raised the required amount of money to file for a recount in Wisconsin, and hopes to have similar success in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Trump barely defeated Clinton in all three states, giving him more than the necessary 270 electoral votes.

Priebus, in a Fox News interview on Sunday, pointed out that the Clinton campaign previously criticized Trump for refusing to say he would accept the election outcome. “It is a total and complete hypocritical joke that the group of people that thought that they were nervous about President-elect Trump not conceding are the people that are conducting recounts in states where we won by over 68,000 votes,” the incoming chief of staff said.

Priebus called the re-examination of Wisconsin’s results “a waste of everybody’s time” that “is only to divide this country when we need to come together and look forward to the future of rebuilding this country and getting us back on track.” He added: “That’s what President Trump is going to do. That’s what we want to do, and this is a total and complete distraction and a fraud.”

MARINE GUARD IGNORES LITTLE BOY, THEN ONLOOKERS NOTICE WHAT HE'S DOING WITH HIS OTHER HAND

A child’s imagination knows no limits, and it can also lead to some misunderstandings from time to time. In a perfect world, those they come in contact with will avoid the awkwardness that can come from these misunderstandings, thus sparking the child’s imagination even further in the process.

As NX2 shares, that’s what we see in this classic video that gains a ton of traction each year around the holidays. It’s actually a commercial from the United States Marine Corps released back in 1997, but it remains just as poignant today.

In the video, a young boy comes across a steely-eyed marine at his post. The child tries to prod him with questions, but the marine follows the orders of his post and continues to look straight ahead. Eventually, the kid stops beating around the bush and drops a doozy of a question on him. He wants to get his list to Santa Claus, and he asks the marine straight out if he’s actually St. Nick.

The marine continues to look straight ahead, but he reaches out his hand to grab the child’s list as he looks on in amazement. The touching commercial revolves around the USMC’s “Toys for Tots” program, which is still going strong to this day.
