Single dad works as a pool cleaner, auditions and brings the judges to tears with his voice

With my personal life experience, this statement by Gretzky is undeniably true. Along with that statement I’ve just mentioned, I wanted to share a story about Daniel Evans and his audition on X-Factor.

Evans, 38-years-old and a father of three, works a regular job as a pool cleaner. The man has a regular job, but also has a unique talent. He has the talent to sing, but always pushed if off when others told him to audition for X-Factor.

His wife, his biggest supporter, wanted him to go for years, but there were always some excuse for Evans. Unfortunately, Daniel’s wife suddenly passed away after giving birth to their youngest child.

With the death of his wife, Evans felt like his wife still wanted him to go audition. The man went to fulfill his wife’s request and in his audition, moved an X-Factor judge to tears.

Explaining his purpose in auditioning, Evan says, “Life is a little too short, so now I’ve decided this year to just go for it, and at least I can say I tried.” For his audition, obviously a dedication to his wife, Evans sung “Sometimes When We Touch” by Dan Hill.

The result of Daniel singing brought X-Factor judge, Cheryl Cole, to tears. The emotional lyrics touched each and every judge that day. Daniel’s beautiful voice resulted in all of the judges giving him a pass, and even Simon Cowell couldn’t help but give the man a pass.

Upon finishing, Evans says, “My wife, I know she was in there with me. I know [that] for a fact and I know she’s proud of me now. I’ve done it for her.”

Daniel’s story was beautiful and heartwarming to hear about. A story about an individual pursuing his dream because his wife believed in his talents.

If you want to watch his audition, you can find it below.
