AUTISTIC BOY GAINS ABILITY TO SPEAK AFTER JUST 2 DAYS OF CANNABIS OIL TREATMENT

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors.

However, symptoms and their severity vary widely across these three core areas. Taken together, they may result in relatively mild challenges for someone on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. For others, symptoms may be more severe, as when repetitive behaviors and lack of spoken language interfere with everyday life.

Though autism spectrum disorders range from mildly to profoundly disabling, a diagnosis of ASD is an important turning point in a long journey. Autism Speaks has many resources for families whose children have recently received a diagnosis.

Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.

Doctors won’t prescribe cannabis to treat autism in children because no data exists to support such a course of treatment.

But the research doesn’t exist because of medical establishment fears about testing cannabis – with its many active compounds seen as potentially uncontrollable variables -on children.

There are some parents that treated the autism of their children with cannabis and this is their statement:

“I know some of you might not agree with this treatment, especially a child, but I’m here to tell you it’s working. I don’t know how far it will take us, but I’m happy he’s getting some relief from whatever anxiety was robbing him of his ability to just..take it down a notch. My wife is SUPER anti-drug of any sort, so to know that she was willing to go down this path say a lot to the struggles we faced daily.

Either way, I just wanted to share my story.”

The medicinal use of cannabis is legal in a number of countries, including Canada, the Czech Republic and Israel. The federal law in the United States no longer has a ban on the use of medical marijuana. States that allow medical marijuana and the sale of it can now do so without having to deal with the federal government.

Some countries have laws which are not as vigorously prosecuted as others, but apart from the countries which offer access to medical marijuana, most countries have various penalties ranging from lenient to very severe. Some infractions are taken more seriously in some countries than others in regard to the cultivation, use, possession or transfer of cannabis for recreational use. A few jurisdictions have lessened penalties for possession of small quantities of cannabis, making it punishable by confiscation and a fine, rather than imprisonment.
