According to KOMO, Savannah Lewitt and her 4-month-old son, Kason, were accidentally locked inside MultiCare Puyallup Urgent Care after it closed Thursday evening.

“I’m hurt, I’m disappointed, I’m disgusted,” Lewitt told KOMO. “And I was more concerned for my son.”

The outraged mom had taken her son to see a doctor for his bad cough around 7 p.m., and they were soon brought into an exam room around 7:30 p.m., where a nurse took Kason’s vitals.

For nearly 40 minutes, Lewitt and her son waited for a doctor to come check on Kason, but nobody ever arrived.

When she finally peeked out of the room, Lewitt was shocked to find that the urgent care center had completely closed down for the evening.

“I started crying,” Lewitt said. “They left me like my son and I meant nothing.”

Although Lewitt tried to leave with her sick baby, she was horrified when she accidentally set off the alarm.

Thankfully, a cleaning crew soon spotted Lewitt and let her out of the building, but she’s still furious that Kason never actually got the chance to see a doctor for his cough.

“I was more angry and disappointed for my son,” Lewitt said. “He was the priority, not me. Him.”

MultiCare has since apologized for the mistake, admitting that closing protocols clearly weren’t followed in this case, but Lewitt can’t forgive and forget just yet.

“Because the feeling I felt, and how scared and alone, like I couldn’t do anything,” she said. “I don’t want somebody to ever go through that feeling. It was horrible.”
