2 Cops Pull Over Mom & Family, Then Secretly Plan To Show Up To Her Home Without Her Knowing

It all started when a pair of deputies pulled over a mother with her family for a minor traffic violation. That’s when they noticed that the mom was going through hard times – but rather than adding onto the huge load of worries that she already had they decided to do something different.

Giving Back Even More

At first, Deputy Sean Cronin and Field Training Officer Anthony Gonnelly thought it was like any other traffic stop – but when they started talking to the driver they realized that they had a real chance to help outside of their usual work environment. That’s when it occurred to them to contact the county’s Community Services Team with two requests for the family.

During the stop the mom tearfully explained that she was going through several devastating personal circumstances, was in a tough spot in her life and was struggling to make ends meet. That’s when the officers chose to do something truly special. The Brevard County Sheriff, Wayne Ivey, posted about his officers’ heartwarming encounter on the department’s official Facebook page.

“[The officers] took it upon themselves to reach out to our Community Services Team to solicit help to find a new car seat for the family who has an infant child.

After receiving the call for assistance, Tonja Tucker and Valerie Sauro of our Community Services Unit worked together to locate a car seat and then went shopping for groceries for Mom and her family.

Deputy Cronin, FTO Gonnelly, Tonja, and Val then delivered the items to the family later that afternoon so that a family in need could have some help during a tough time in their lives.”

Without hesitation, the officers provided the mother with a brand new car seat, as well as a huge supply of food, drinks and snacks for her little ones to munch on while she pieced their lives back together. The best part was that she never saw any of it coming. When the officers showed up to her home with groceries and the car seat she couldn’t help but feel complete gratitude towards these officers whom she had just met hours before.

One Proud Sheriff

Sheriff Ivey went on to praise the men for their generous actions. The car seat was donated but the men used their own hard-earned money to give the woman the groceries she and her family desperately needed.

“While the team was able to get the car seat donated, they took the money from their own pockets to pay for the groceries because of their compassion for others and because they each realize that at any given moment in life it could be one of us that experiences a tough time.

It is actions like this and many others that make me so proud of the men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office who do everything they can to protect our community. They also know how fortunate we are to have a community that takes care of us while partnering together to make Brevard County an awesome place to call home!”

It’s kind actions like this that strengthen the bond between civilians and the men and women who wear a badge and risk their lives to keep us safe.

A Shining Example Of Police Work

In a time where police officers are often feared and disliked, it’s amazing to hear of officers still taking the extra step to give back to our communities. We can all try to do the same for them when given the opportunity!
