TRUMP IS SENDING A MESSAGE TO OBAMA, WHITE HOUSE WEBSITE CHANGED

Climate change has been a key concern of many people in the country for years now, including former President Barack Obama. The White House official website once contained pages about global warming and climate change issues, all of which were moved off the main website promptly upon President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Many are concerned about the implications of the term ‘climate change’ disappearing.

When President Trump took over the White House, his administration also took over all digital resources. This includes the website WhiteHouse.gov. Almost immediately, pages that were heavily associated with former President Obama’s agenda were moved and replaced by President Trump’s plans for America.

Some are disturbed that the new POTUS has eliminated the term ‘climate change’. With much alarm about the fate of the environment, a number of liberals are concerned about the large collection of data being deleted. “The government has done a great job of collecting and maintaining climate change data on these websites located all across the federal government,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, founder of the organization 314 Action. “The concern is that the data may no longer be publicly available, and then that they may no longer gather the data. It’s a lot easier to deny climate change when you don’t have data.”

“Each president has different priorities,” said Chris Warren, a spokesperson for the Institute of Energy Research. “We saw the priorities of President Obama reflected in the previous website. The new administration has a very different way of looking at the world. He wants to increase oil and gas and increase wages, and you can tell from the changes to the website that it looks like what he talked about on the campaign trail.”

While President Trump’s WhiteHouse.gov does mention energy plans, it does not mention climate change issues. The digital turnover didn’t delete President Obama’s pages but moved them to a new section: ObamaWhiteHouse.gov.
