BILL CLINTON: ‘ANGRY WHITE MEN’ GAVE TRUMP THE PRESIDENCY

Donald Trump’s ability to attract a certain demographic group to his campaign was one of the reasons he won the election, according to Bill Clinton.

The former president told The Record-Review, a weekly newspaper in the New York county where he and his wife live, that Trump “doesn’t know much, (but) one thing he does know is how to get angry white men to vote for him.” The Republican nominee’s victory was largely due to the support he received from older Caucasian males who said they were fed up with traditional politicians. Hillary Clinton won by a large margin among women and minorities, whom Trump repeatedly smeared during the race.

The New York Daily News reported that Bill Clinton also blamed the FBI director for his wife’s shocking defeat last month. “James Comey lost her the election,” he declared, referring to the FBI investigation of emails related to the former secretary of state. Just 11 days before the election, Comey announced that agents were examining messages on computer devices that Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, shared with her husband (former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner of New York).

In addition, the former president cited the Russian government’s alleged attempts to assist Donald Trump. The CIA and FBI have reported that Vladimir Putin ordered hackers to attack the computers of Democratic and Republican political operatives. The hackers turned over to WikiLeaks only the emails they obtained from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, according to the intelligence agencies. “You would need to have a single-digit IQ not to recognize what was going on,” Bill Clinton said.
