Police in Detroit are continuing to investigate a double homicide that took place on the West Side of the city, but they have released the identity of one of the victims. As Fox 2 Detroit reports, one of the victims was Robert Eddins, a former player with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
Investigators have no leads or suspects at the moment, but they believe it may have been someone that knew the victims.
“All they know is they went out last night. There isn’t a car here. There’s nothing here. That’s his dad’s truck. He came here and found him. That’s all we know, dead in the basement. Shot,” said Bridget Eddins, the mother of the victim.

There were no signs of forcible entry, but one room of the house was completely ransacked. Eddins played ball at Detroit Crockett High School and Ball State in college before making it to the pros.

“I know one thing, whoever did it, he wasn’t going out like that. He probably told them to give me your best shot that’s how he was,” she continued.
