Anyone who has ever worked for someone else will know the feeling of dread that can accompany a performance evaluation or reprimand. Most of us try to do the best work we can, and to have your failings laid out before you can feel like someone has ripped out your beating heart and shown it to you before stomping it into the dirt.
Well, we just found out about a boss who had a dedicated long term employee that needed help in performing to his expectations. However, his solution to the issue was one of the most ingenious and humane things we have ever heard about a boss doing. When you watch this video, you are going to love this story.
Veronica Solis has worked as a cook at the same day care center for more than three years. She has been an exemplary employee, although, since she does not own a car, she had been recently tardy on a regular basis. She has also been fighting cancer, and winning.

While she was struggling to get to work, once she would arrive, she has worked with dedication and professionalism.

Unfortunately for her employer, Alex Rios, a tardiness issue is something that cannot be tolerated, so he decided it was time to have a discussion with Solis.
Now, as most of us who have ever been late for work can attest, the usual exchange goes something like “sorry, I’m late,” followed by “do it again and you’re fired.” But Rios is a different sort of boss.
When Veronica was late, yet again, he approached her and asked her to come outside to talk about the problem. Of course, her heart sank and her mind immediately went to a very bad place.
When they got outside, she immediately went on the defensive as her fight or flight instinct kicked in. But Rios was not having any of that. And before too long, he revealed the solution to their mutual problem.
As they stood in the parking lot, Alex Rios presented his dedicated employee with a car to help her get to work and the doctor’s office.
Since this video was first posted, it has been viewed more than eight hundred and fifty thousand times.
People have taken to social media to share their admiration for a boss who knows the best ways to get the most out of his most important assets, his employees.
