Kirk Soccorso was let go from his job as a tool demonstrator at the Home Depot in Patchogue, Long Island, and he believes he lost his job due to an unfortunate misunderstanding. As News 12 explains, the man has a tattoo that says ‘ISIS,’ but he says it’s not for what you think.
The man claims that the tattoo is actually the name of his ex-girlfriend.
“She had this idea … let’s get each other’s names tattooed. My name Kirk is four letters and hers is Isis,” he says.

In addition to being jobless and without a girlfriend, it doesn’t sound like Soccorso is very abreast of happenings around the world.

“I honestly didn’t know what the acronym meant until just recently,” he continued.
Soccorso was employed by a Florida marketing firm, but he was informed by both companies not to return to the store. He says he’s not a terrorist, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll be getting his job back anytime soon.
“It’s a personnel matter and the decision wasn’t just based on the tattoo,” according to Home Depot spokesman Stephen Holmes.
