OBAMA: GOP FANS OF PUTIN MAKE REAGAN ‘ROLL OVER IN HIS GRAVE’

Ronald Reagan would not approve of Republicans having kind words for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, according to President Obama.

Yahoo News reported that the president said Reagan might “roll over in his grave” if he heard about a recent poll in which 37 percent of GOP voters gave the former KGB chief a favorable rating. Obama did not mention the CIA’s allegation that the Russian government tried to influence last month’s election in favor of Donald Trump by hacking the computers of officials with the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

However, the president told reporters: “Not much happens in Russia without Vladimir Putin. This is a pretty hierarchical operation. Last time I checked, there’s not a lot of debate and democratic deliberation, particularly when it comes to policies directed at the United States. … The Russians can’t change us or significantly weaken us. They are a smaller country, they are a weaker country, their economy doesn’t produce anything that anyone wants to buy except oil and gas and arms. They don’t innovate. But they can impact us if we lose track of who we are. They can impact us if we abandon our values.”

Federal authorities are looking into reports that Russians or others may have altered the programs of voting machines in key states in an attempt to change the election outcome. Computer experts have pointed out that hackers could manipulate the machines in numerous ways, like switching some votes from one candidate to another. Some of the biggest disparities between exit-poll data and the reported results on Election Day occurred in states that used the machines instead of paper ballots.
