A single mom in Missouri was desperate and took to Facebook to make a plea for help. An angel heard her prayer.

For Joanna Wiley, things were about as bad as they could get. The poor single mother had a leaky roof and knew she couldn’t afford to get it fixed. When the rainy season came, her youngest daughter’s bedroom was getting soaked from the downpours, so she attempted to climb on the roof and fix things herself.

While climbing, the ladder fell and Wiley suffered a traumatic brain injury, but that wasn’t even the worst of it. While being treated for the brain injury, doctors found the mom had thyroid cancer.

Wiley’s health issues only made things more difficult and the house got worse and worse. With no one to turn to, Wiley posted a plea for help on Facebook.

Edward Aguado saw her video and got in touch with Wiley. he offered to come over to see if he could fix her roof for her. When he saw the squalor the family was living in, he was heartbroken. The kind stranger gave her a new roof for free– a $10,000 job.

Wiley, overwhelmed, hugged Aguado and thanked him for his generosity. She’s not worried about rain anymore. Aguado is just glad he could help. “I was in a position where I could help and I wanted to help. It was really as simple as that.”
