A woman in the UK murdered her husband and hid his body in her shed for 18 years. Occasionally she even mentioned to people that she killed him. No one believed her, until she died and they found the body.
The skeletal remains of John Sabine, a man who went missing in 1997, were found rolled up in a car cover in his wife’s shed. The discovery was made when friends were help cleaning out Leigh Ann Sabine’s belongings after she died of cancer.
The Sabines reportedly had a very turbulent marriage and had been together 37 years. The couple abandoned their five children, engaged in sexual experimentation and were accused of fraud and violence a number of times. Apparently, Leigh Ann got fed up one night, picked up a stone frog statue by the bedside and bludgeoned her husband with it. She then rolled him up in the cover and stuffed him in the back yard shed.

At first, Leigh Ann told everyone that John had left her. Considering the state of the marriage, no one was really surprised. Later, Leigh Ann became so confident about her crime that she boasted about it.

A family friend who hadn’t seen her for a while asked about John and said, “I would have thought by now that one of you would have killed the other.”
“Funny you should say that,” the cheeky former cabaret singer responded. “I’ve killed him. I’ve battered him with a stone frog which was at the side of my bed. He was just driving me mad.”
Having a rather twisted sense of human, people always just thought Leigh Ann was joking when she made comments about killing John. They weren’t a joke– police even discovered the dent in the skull found in her shed matched the shape of the stone frog, still by the bedside after she passed away.
