While there’s plenty of horror stories out there about the perils of posting on social media, there’s also plenty of good that comes out of it as well. Like this story. As WREG reports, this mom discovered her young daughter had a rare eye condition – and it was all because of a photo she uploaded on Facebook.
Tara Taylor shared a picture of her three-year-old daughter, and two of her friends were quick to point something out to her.
“They said ‘Hey, I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s probably the lighting, but your daughter’s eye is glowing and you might want to have it checked out because it’s a sign there could be an issue with her eye,'” Taylor recalls.

She took her daughter to the pediatrician as a precaution, and she was referred to a retina specialist. Turns out that her daughter suffers from Coat’s disease, and it can lead to blindness if it’s left untreated. Taylor says that she had no indication that her daughter was having any trouble seeing, and she’s obviously quite thankful that her friends spoke up when they did.
