American Airlines Employee Freaks Out After Finding What’s Hidden In Plane

When a plane recently arrived in Miami, Florida, problems with the functionality of the American Airlines aircraft were discovered. After sending the plane to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for repairs and maintenance, an employee found something hidden in the nose of the plane that left everyone a little freaked out.

Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Justin Green says the plane arrived in Miami from Bogota, Colombia, on Sunday. American Airlines has a maintenance base in Tulsa, so once the plane arrived, workers began diagnosing the problems with the aircraft.

There appeared to be an issue in the nose of the plane, so an employee inspected the nose gear, and that’s when things got weird. The employee noticed something hidden in the nose that shouldn’t be in the Boeing 757 at all, let alone in the nose gear.

At first glance, the item looked like a brick or a clump of insulation wedged inside the gear. The employee wasn’t sure what it was, especially since the insulation looked brand new. Not wanting to take any chances, the maintenance technician called the sheriff’s office to inspect the suspicious find.

A thorough inspection revealed seven bricks of cocaine, totaling 31 pounds, lodged in the nose gear of the airplane. Worth at least $14,000 a pound, the total amount of cocaine found in the plane was valued at roughly $434,000, and it was a highly unexpected find.

The case has been turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Miami. There hasn’t been any word on how the cocaine got into the nose of the plane, but authorities are looking into it.

Because of the sophistication of the operation, authorities believe it is cartel-related. The drugs went undiscovered for days while the plane was being moved to Oklahoma for repairs. Drug dogs were also unable to pick up the scent of the cocaine because the bricks were covered in wheel grease.

Drug smuggling operations are only one reason we must carefully monitor who and what is coming into the country. This is not a small amount of drugs, and the cartel was able to sneak it past drug dogs and security. It’s a good thing all of the passengers on this flight were safe since there was an obvious issue after landing in Miami.

It’s pretty clear that drug lords don’t care about the safety of anyone. They only want to get drugs onto the streets of America and will do anything they can to make money at the expense of our safety.
