The large crowds at the recent women’s marches apparently inspired Hillary Clinton, who is predicting that women will continue to gain political power.
“Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that, yes, the future is female,” the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said this week in a video message for the women’s-leadership MAKERS Conference, according to Fox News. Clinton continued: “Just look at the amazing energy we saw as women organized a march that galvanized millions of people all over our country and across the world.”

Millions of people marched in the streets of many U.S. cities. While their main demand was equal rights for women, many of the demonstrators also were protesting President Trump, who had taken the oath of office the previous day.

Breitbart News reported that at the main event, in the nation’s capital, musicians and film stars took turns bashing the new commander-in-chief. The critics included documentarian Michael Moore and actor Scarlett Johansson. Madonna revealed that she had considered blowing up the White House. The pop singer’s profanity-laden remarks prompted Trump to fire back on Twitter, calling her a “disgrace.”
In the video, Clinton asked her audience to “please set an example for every woman and girl out there who is worried about what the future holds, and wonders whether our rights, opportunities and values will endure.” She added: “Remember, you are the heroes, the history makers, the glass-ceiling breakers of the future.”
The former U.S. senator and secretary of state urged “strong women to step up and speak out,” because they will determine whether women’s “rights, opportunities and values will endure.”
The MAKERS Conference, an annual gathering that started on Monday, featured a variety of speakers representing politics, business and entertainment.
Since her loss in last November’s presidential election, Clinton has been keeping a low profile. She did attend President Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.
Breitbart News, citing multiple sources, pointed out that “first daughter” Ivanka Trump is helping the new administration determine its policies concerning women and girls.
