When you’re father is the president of the United States, you can certainly expect to have your every move analyzed and overanalyzed to death. Add in the fact that your husband has been granted a key role in your father’s administration, and you can be certain that the scrutiny will increase tenfold. That’s the situation that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner find themselves in, and they certainly better start getting used to it if they haven’t already.
As you’ll see in this latest example from Hollywood Take, nothing is off limits when it comes to questioning the couple, and that includes their religious faith. Kushner comes from a Jewish Orthodox family, and Ivanka converted to Judaism back in 2009. The conversion wasn’t merely symbolic, as she has previously explained that the religion means a great deal to her.
“It’s been such a great life decision for me. I am very modern, but I’m also a very traditional person, and I think that’s an interesting juxtaposition in how I was raised as well. I really find that with Judaism, it creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity,” she said.

While it sounds like the DC power couple is quite happy with their religious faith, that hasn’t stopped critics from wondering exactly how seriously they take it. For example, Inauguration Weekend festivities took place during the Sabbath, but Ivanka and Jared did not refrain from participating. Reports indicate they received a rabbinical exemption, but that’s not good enough for some critics.

If there was ever a case for exemption, the inauguration of a parent would certainly seem like a valid time to grant one. However, ardent critics are quick to point out that they are typically reserved for medical situations. Be that as it may, the matter is between the couple, their rabbi and place of worship, and to question their faith over an obviously extenuating circumstance resides in the neighborhood of downright preposterous.
