Lunchtime can’t come fast enough for most students across the nation, and they typically relish the opportunity to dig into a little chow and catch up with their friends. While sometimes the items on the school lunch room’s menu aren’t a hit with everyone, parents typically take solace in the fact that the food their children are served is prepared in a closely inspected environment.
As Opposing Views points out, this school district in Pennsylvania may want to do a little more poking around. A photo of a disturbing looking hamburger that was served to a student has been making the rounds, and picture viewers have been losing their appetites as a result.
“I work in a school cafeteria. If that burger had come out of my oven looking like that it would have went in the garbage…not on your child’s meal!” shared one user.

Photos of the burger in question speak for itself, but let’s just say it won’t be sparking up any hunger pains anytime soon. The burger was served at a school in the DuBois Area School District, and the superintendent has issued a statement in a bid to quell the unrest.

“It’s something we’ll learn from and overcome and I have 100 percent confidence in the food service staff here that work hard to make great food for all of us,” said Dr. Luke Lansberry.
