When you work in the service industry, it’s always a good idea to take care of your regular customers. Those customers help support the establishment you work in through busy times and slow times, but that fact sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of the hectic pace of your average restaurant or bar.
As News West 9 reports, this bartender at the Texas Road House in Odessa, Texas received all the confirmation he will ever need on that principle. Jesse Gutierrez, who has been working at the establishment for the past four years as a bartender, recently received a mind-blowing $1,000 tip from a group of regular customers.

“At the end of the night, when I paid him out, that’s when he put that tip on the thing and then I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to expect and when he was talking to me, there were tears in his eyes and he was just like there’s something on my heart that’s telling me to do this for you,” he explains.

While Gutierrez acknowledges that he’s become quite close with his regulars through the years, he was still shocked by their kindness and generosity.
“He goes I see that you have a family, I see that you have a wife, a three-month baby. He was like I wanna make sure that this makes it a lot easier for you in the next couple of months,” Gutierrez continued.
