Kellyanne Conway, one of Donald Trump’s top staffers, is coming under fire for defending the president-elect’s critical tweets about “Saturday Night Live.”
According to The Hill, GQ magazine’s Keith Olbermann also used Twitter to slam Conway. He wrote: “What a wretched human @kellyannePolls truly is #LeaveOurCountry #Fascist Twitter.com/cnn.”
The commentator was upset about Conway’s remarks in a CNN interview on Monday. “New Day” host Chris Cuomo brought up Trump’s most recent tweets blasting “SNL” and Alec Baldwin, who portrays the president-elect in comedy sketches. Trump dismissed the program as a “totally one-sided, biased show” with “nothing funny at all.”

“Why take it up?” Cuomo asked his guest. “Why take up ‘SNL?’ No president does that. Why waste time? Why distract?” Conway replied: “Why do you care? Who’s to say he can’t do that, make a comment, spend five minutes sending a tweet, making a comment?”

The aide, who was Trump’s campaign manager, alleged that CNN “and other people will always be focused on divisions.” She asked: “How about accepting the election results, Chris, and letting him form a government? I think we should all learn from the election that this doesn’t fly with the voters. He is a leader and takes the counsel of many people, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.”
Cuomo suggested that politicians “should also have thick skin.” Conway explained that her boss uses Twitter because “it’s a great way for him to take his message directly to the people.”
