TEACHER STUNNED WHEN SHE WALKS INTO SPANISH CLASS, SEES THIS ANTI-TRUMP DISPLAY

Students in a Nebraska school who wanted to engage in a demonstration against President Donald Trump decided to take an anti-American route. The students went into Spanish class and covered the American Flag with the flag of Mexico. Instead of pledging to the American flag in the heartland that day, students pledged their allegiance to the country south of the border. The teacher quickly removed the Mexican flag and gave the students a lecture on patriotism.

No one would have known about the incident if it weren’t for the fact that just about every kid carries in his pocket a camera and mini-computer these days. One of the students in the class snapped a photo of the Mexican flag and posted it online. The teacher confronted the student who brought in the flag, and he responded to her with a slew of anti-Trump talking points.

Teacher Marcie Castillo, instead of giving her students a lesson in Spanish that day, gave them a lesson in flag etiquette. The U.S. flag code says ‘no such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag’s right’.

It’s refreshing to see a teacher actually responding to a student’s behavior in an appropriate manner. Many teachers have failed to take the opportunity to teach a lesson about the flag when their students disrespect it, refuse to salute it or even step on it. In fact, one North Carolina teacher recently stepped on the flag himself during a lesson on free speech. He was promptly fired.

You don’t even have to agree with or support the POTUS. The flag is bigger than him and represents so much more– including those who have fought and died to defend our freedom.

People might want to ask themselves, WWDTD? That is, ‘What Would Danny Trejo Do?” The Mexican American actor has been photographed driving his bike proudly with two American flags mounted to the back.

“This is the way it should be… you can be proud of your Mexican heritage, but in the end, you are an American. Fly this flag proudly,” the actor said.
