The Westboro Baptist Church is arguably one of the most hated organizations in America. The church considers itself on a mission from God, which they consider justification for spewing hate speech. One of the lowest things the organization does is send members across the country to picket the funerals of fallen service members. Church members believe that God kills American soldiers because he’s angry at the country for being tolerant towards LGBTQ people. They stand outside the funeral, in view of the mourners if they can get that close, and shout things like ‘thank God for dead soldiers’.
The WBC is desperate for attention and loves when their hateful comments or signs outrage people. Criticism hasn’t deterred the church from their behavior but has empowered them. More and more people across the country, however, are sick of the notorious group’s antics.
Recently, some WBC members got a little instant karma when they picketed a military funeral in small Oklahoma town. The members of the church rode up in a purple minivan and hauled their signs as close as they could get to disrupt the grieving family and friends of fallen Army Sergeant James McCluskey. After shouting that God hates America, and that McCluskey’s body should have been left on the ground to rot, the satisfied church members turned to go back to their vehicle.

They discovered that someone in Oklahoma could be as hateful as church members could. Someone slashed the group’s tires. The church members had the nerve to ask the dispersing funeral crowd for help, but not surprisingly, no one would give them the time of day.

The WBC group formed a prayer circle and prayed for God to send help, but it seems God had abandoned them as well. Their damaged van hobbled away on flat tires in hopes of getting them repaired in town.
Again, no such luck. Business owners in the small town didn’t take kindly to the mean-spirited and hateful protest. They refused to help as well. The group finally had to call a tow truck and be hauled to a more impersonal corporation — Walmart — to get their van repaired.
Now that kind of justice is divine.
