Winter is the perfect time of year for soups and stews. The good news is YouTube channel Cooking with Jack offers a special recipe for winter “No Peek Stew.”

This amazing no peek stew requires two pounds beef roast, two or three sliced onions, five stalks celery chopped into one inch pieces, seven or eight carrots, cut in 2″ pieces, three to four large potatoes, cut up, two large tomatoes, diced, a quarter teaspoon of salt, a quarter teaspoon of pepper, four tablespoons cornstarch, two tablespoons granulated sugar, one onion soup mix, one can cream of celery soup, a half tablespoon beef base, a half cup warm water, one can of Pepsi cola, two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, and one half to one and a half cups tomato juice or V-8 juice.

Start by lining the bottom of a roasting pan or large casserole pan with the meat. Do not brown. Next, add the potatoes, carrots, celery, tomatoes and onions. Combine salt, pepper, sugar, corn starch, soup mix together, and then mix the dry ingredients into cream soup.
