The USDA has released the details on yet another food recall, and this one is absolutely staggering in terms of size. As shared by Today, the recall is in effect for nearly two million pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products.
The recall affects products distributed by National Steak and Poultry out of its Owasso, Oklahoma facility. The concern stems from a consumer complaint on one of the products they had purchased, in which the consumer said that the product appeared to be undercooked. That apparently ramped up the concerns that a plethora of batches already distributed may have also been undercooked, hence the recall.
The items were shipped to stores throughout the nation and sold directly to the consumers. Products being recalled are clearly marked with the National Steak and Poultry name, as well as the location of the facility. All of the affected products were produced on various dates between August 20, 2016 through November 30, 2016.
