A father’s heart leapt when he saw the family dog run viciously toward his 18-month-old son. He thought the dog was attacking the boy, but it turns out that the dog noticed a danger. The pooch is the family’s hero, and may have saved the little boy’s life.
The Holloway family in Tennessee were enjoying their back porch. Their son Bryson was playing in the dirt. Suddenly, dog Shiloh went on the attack.
Dad Bryan jumped, worried that Shiloh was attacking Bryson. Instead, Shiloh was attacking a snake right near the baby’s feet. Shiloh grabbed the snake away, then jumped and screamed after getting bitten by the serpent.

Shiloh’s neck began to swell badly from the bit. Bryson’s parents are afraid to think what would have happened to their little boy if he were the one to have been bitten.

I honestly don’t think he would be here and I really don’t think we could have made it to the hospital and even if we did, best case scenario would have been a 50/50 fighting chance,” said mom Alicia.
“Since Shiloh protected him, I couldn’t love this dog any more and [Shiloh’s] been babied a whole lot since this has happened because we’re very very grateful for him,” Alicia concluded.
Both Bryson and Shiloh are doing fine.
