Young Children Accidentally Wet Themselves Then Teachers Make Them Mop While They Laugh

Charges of alleged child abuse are coming out of the Head Start Program in Prince George’s County, Maryland. A federal investigation has been launched, and all federal funding (which amounts to a loss of over $6 million) to the county’s Head Start Program has been suspended until the investigation is over.

The trouble started when a three-year-old student was forced to clean up his own urine, some preschoolers, as a punishment, were forced to hold heavy books over their heads, and a five-year-old student walked home all alone.

All of the incidents took place at different school in the county between December 2015 and June 2016. The three-year-old had an accident during naptime and was humiliated and punished in front of his classmates at Winship Wheatley Early Childhood Center.

The teacher gave him a mop and made him clean up the mess while wearing his wet clothes. The teacher took a picture and sent it to the parents with a text that read “LOL.” At James Ryder Randall Elementary School, preschoolers held heavy books above their heads as a punishment.

If they were unable to hold the books up for the set amount of time – they would have to start over. Then in June, a five-year-old student at Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School returned to his classroom after being in the nurse’s office only to find the classroom was empty.

The child then left school grounds unnoticed and walked home. When asked by federal investigators, the school officials refused to share their documents that detailed policies and procedures. Share away, people.
