There’s nothing more divisive than asking a Batman fan, “Who was the better Joker?” And yeah, probably 9 times out of 10 they’re going to say Heath Ledger. But I don’t think people have thought this all the way through. Here are just a few reasons why Leto’s Joker was obviously superior.
The Joker is just about as famous as Batman himself.

The character is iconic, so he has to be handled in the perfect way.
And the Joker from Suicide Squad totally nails it — and here’s why.
1. His grills give him some serious street cred.
Only the scariest villain owns a set of these. Oh, and also Madonna. And Katy Perry. And Harry Styles. And – never mind.
2. His threads are so badass.
He’s probably the paid spokesman for Hot Topic. His clothes are that edgy.
3. He has his own private helicopter.
Probably bought it with the funds from his Hot Topic contract.
4. It’s written all over him how disturbed he is – literally.
It’s not emo. It’s hardcore.
5. He runs a nightclub, which means he is instantly cooler than anyone else who doesn’t run a night club. Heath Ledger’s Joker did not run a nightclub.
That’s free bottle service. Do not underestimate the importance of this.
6. He is great at arranging weapons that look ah-mazing from an aerial view.
He knows people will make the extra effort to grab a ladder.
