A group of four people in Chicago, Illinois have been charged with the vehicular hijacking of a 49-year-old resident that they also assaulted in an attack that was captured on video. As the Daily Mail reports, a minor traffic incident escalated once the perpetrators found out that the man had voted for President-elect Trump.
David Wilcox’s car was swiped by another vehicle, and he had pulled over to exchange insurance information with the other drive. Things got out of hand once he exited his vehicle.
“One of the guys – African-American at the bus stop – said ‘Yeah, that’s one of those white boy Trump supporters.’ And I said ‘What does that have to do with this accident? I just want to exchange insurance,’” he explained.

They began assaulting Wilcox from that point, and the whole incident was captured on videotape. It’s been making the rounds ever since, and one person can be clearly heard yelling in the background “Don’t vote Trump.”

They stopped beating him long enough to jump in his vehicle and take off with it. Wilcox hung on to the car for a little while before letting go, and the perpetrators were rounded up a short time later. A witness at the scene claims that Wilcox used a racial slur prior to the incident escalating, but he has denied that.
